hair coloring?

what is the acid-base neutralization chemical reaction of hair dying? i kno that an acid plus a base produces water and a salt, i just want to kno what the acid, base and salt are. and if possible, any other chemical tidbits about hair coloring. just for clarification, i am supposed to do a chemistry project about the acid-base reactions in hair dye. im not planning on dying my own hair...

  1. no acid or base is used for hair coloring. the H2O2 is used as decolorizing agent. usualy we salts of halogens
  2. it includes the compound which fixes the H2O2 AND COLOUR THE HAIR but colouring hair is harmful it increases the chances of hairfall, dandruff, roughness, and dehabit the growth
